About Emirates

Emirates is a Dubai based international airline operating over 1,000 flights per week, to 115 destinations in 60 countries across 6 continents. Emirates is the only airline in the world to offer non-stop service to all six continents from one hub. Fleet:

As the fastest growing airline in the world, Emirates has achieved much in the past three decades. Established in year 1985, Emirates fleet comprised of a single leased Boeing and an Airbus for routes out of Dubai. Today the debonair airline operates with a fleet of more than 200 aircrafts and is notoriously placing large orders (42 aircrafts in a single order!) for fleet expansion. Emirates offered transport services to 34 million passengers and 1.8 million tonnes of cargo in financial year 2012-13. With recent tie ups with many no-frill and luxury airlines having regional presence in various countries, Emirates is expanding its service scope exponentially.

Routes and Destinations

Emirates airline is currently connecting its hub, Dubai with 130 destinations spread over 6 continents. Weekly flights are scheduled to destinations in Africa, Asia & Pacific, North & South America, Europe and the Middle East. In addition to its own extensive network, Emirates also provides the service of flying beyond Emirates flight plans with a wide network of tie-ups with other international airlines. The marketing policy of airline offers attractive flight fares to popular international destinations making it a preferred airline for many globetrotters. 

How to Check in

For domestic travelers, check-in counter opens 2 hours before the flight schedule and closes 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of flight. At the time of check-in, a printout of the itinerary confirming the flight details must be produced along with a valid photo ID proof. Emirates also offers the facility of web check-in, which opens 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight time and is available up to 90 minutes before flight. Web check-in is only applicable for 9 passengers or less booked under the same PNR. Also if the first flight in the itinerary is not an Emirates flight, then web check-in facility is not allowed. Emirates also offer mobile boarding pass facility to its passengers.

Baggage Fees and Allowances

Emirates offer one of the most liberal free checked baggage allowances to its customers. For Economy class travelers, free checked baggage limit is that of 30 kg, for Business class it is 40 kg and for First class it is 50 kg. These allowances do not apply for flights to North and South America, where baggage allowance is calculated as per units per person. Excess baggage is allowed in case of passengers traveling with infants, passengers with disabilities of transport of sports goods or musical instruments. In flight hand baggage weight allowance is that of 12 kg for First class and Business class travelers. For economy class travelers, baggage allowance is that of 7kg. Prohibited items include radioactive material, corrosives, aerosols, explosives, inflammable liquids or solids, sharp instruments, poisons or bio-hazard substances.

Seating

Emirates fleet comprises of Airbus A380, Airbus A340-500 and Boeing 777 planes, designed to offer segregated seating for First class, Business class and Economy class. Average seating capacity of Airbus aircraft is 265 for 3 class flights and Boeing aircrafts carry 365 passengers for 3 class and 440 passengers for 2 class flights.

Booking Fees

Emirates airline charges nominal convenience fees for online booking and booking changes. Flights with Emirates can be booked both from Emirates website and online portals. Booking flights from the airline counter doesn’t entail any additional cost.
